Boxed Clever

Stephanie Block shows us a step by step guide to creating a fabulous ‘exploding’ box!
You will need:
3 sheets of 12×12 card
1 sheet of A4 card
Ruler
Pencil
Double-Sided Sticky tape
Embellishments

Take your first piece of card and trim it so it is 30cm x 30cm. Now divide it up into 10cm by 10cm squares so you end up with 9 squares in total.

Repeat this with the other 2 pieces of card but making them slightly smaller I have used 9.5cm and 9cm but it is entirely up to you.

Then using double-sided tape, stick each of the pieces on top of each other, largest first. (Middle size to the large one and the small size to the middle one)

For the box lid take the A4 piece of card and make it into a 20cm by 20cm square. Then measure 4.5cm in all the way around and mark it up.

Then glue each corner – you will need to glue inside each triangle and then glue each triangle to the inside of the box.
Having a go? Show us the results!

Thank you for this fantastic idea! I made this using a template for an octagonal box and it turned out great! I resized the template and made two smaller inner boxes to store art supplies.
