Ribbon Christmas Tree Project by Emma Fleming
Posted on 13 December 2008 by admin
Keeping with the Christmas Theme Emma Flemming explains how to make this fabulous Ribbon Christmas Tree which would make a great table centre piece.
- polystyrene cone
- lots of ribbon cut into 4 inch strips (approx 200 of these!)
- some sequin pins
- green acrylic paint
- Paint the polystyrene cone with a bright green acrylic paint and allowed it to dry.
- Start at the bottom of the tree and fold the ribbon in half and attach it to the tree with one pin. Make sure your ribbons overhang at the bottom of the tree to so that it lays nicely. Work your way up the tree, overlapping each layer.
- Emma topped off the tree with two wooden snowflakes which she had painted white, glued a needle in between them with about half an inch sticking out so that they could be stuck into the top of the tree.

I think I will have to do this for next year, once I get a cone. Thanks for sharing and I do have lots of ribbons.

I think this is awesome. I’d like to make one of my own! How big of a cone did you start with and how many yards of ribbon (approximately) were used?
