The day has finally come... my much loved hand-drawn and coloured robot characters have now been brought to life in the form of two craft DVDs.

The day has finally come! After a lot of blood, sweat and tears, my much loved hand-drawn and coloured robot characters have now been brought to life in the form of two craft DVDs.

In order to maintain the highest quality of the hand drawn characters these images have been saved as 300 dpi (Dots per Inch), which is professional print quality. These are to such a high standard that they would not fit on a CD so we’ve had to put them on a DVD! The discs are PC and Mac compatible as long as you have a DVD ROM drive.

Each DVD Disc has over 550 printable pages and over 1800 printable elements. There are over 300 printable background sheets alone plus accessories, badges, blank and coloured characters (in both JPG and PNG Format), Decoupage Sheets and Sentiments.

All images have been saved in JPG format and can be viewed and printed via your PC or Mac. In addition, the Blank and Coloured Characters and the Accessories have also been saved in PNG format with transparent backgrounds. Therefore, these PNG images can be resized as required in your preferred graphics program, e.g. Adobe Photoshop/Elements. These images can then be printed off and used in your paper crafting or formatted for use in digital crafting such as digital scrapbooking.

Each DVD has images of 8 family members. Disc 1 has the following Rustin family members:

From L to R we have - Andi (daughter), Baby J, Bolton (son), Cooper (son), Hammer (dog), Henry (Dad), Lillie (Mum) and Screwzi (daughter and twin to Bolton).

Disc 2 has the following Rustin extended family members:

From L to R we have - Aunt Franny (Lillies sister), Bop (family bot), Grandma Peggy Screw (Henry’s Mum), Grandpa Sawl (Henry’s Dad), Liv (daughter to Franny & Charlie), Patrick (son and twin to Liv), Spanner (cat) and Uncle Charlie (husband to Franny).

Here are some examples of items I have made:

The PNG Baby J character has been re-sized and printed off for the top of this Altered Washing Tablet Box. The sentiment is also from the DVD too.

Here is an Altered Large Peg which has been covered in the Cooper large character paper in yellow.

Here are some example cards made with the decoupage sheets from the DVDs.

Meet the Rustins DVDs Disc 1 and Disc 2 can be purchased for the bargain price of £14.99 each with FREE WORLDWIDE POSTAGE at pcjdigital.com

The first 10 crafters to purchase one or both of our DVDs will also receive a FREE Smoochie Manoochie Clear Stamp.

On 9th April my school friend Martine, gave birth to a gorgeous little girl named Elena. I wanted to make something for Martine as a keepsake for the birth of her daughter so having requested a photograph, I made this ‘Interlocking Card’. You can check out the previous Interlocking Card Tutorial HERE.

I was also asked if I could make a special card for a 13th birthday and to incorporate a photograph too, if I could. Instead of doing a ‘traditional style’ card with the photograph on the front of the card I thought I would create a template for the number ‘13′ but which would be solid made from card and patterned paper.

However, I made the back of the card from acetate in the same shape as the front of the card and adhered the photograph here. The area at the back of the photograph had some card adhered in the same shape to cover the rear of the photo and also an area to write a message.

The front of the card was finished off with a tag, a Bluebeary Hill Collection Birthday Bear and the birthday girls name, which were both hand drawn by me and coloured in with Promarker pens. Promarkers are excellent to give a more 3D and shaded effect to an image.

When we feature tutorials on crafting techniques it is always lovely to see that our readers are inspired enough to submit creations. Here we show you some of those submissions.

Previously Tracey Grundy showed us these gorgeous tins. The tutorial for the hand made flowers which were featured in a previous post can be found HERE.

Gaye McLean (Chooks) used the said template and after decorating some tins, added these fabulous flowers to her creations.

Again, a previous post on altered art featured Tracey Grundy’s altered M&S bag (as shown), of which the post can be found HERE.

Gaye (Chooks) shows us her take on altering a bag.

Fiona Haigh-Gannon’s recent Pyramage feature (pic shown below) which can be found here HERE, inspired some of you to have a go.

Today is the 60th Birthday of one of our forum members, Dee a.k.a. Denise Hughes and we would all like to wish her a Very Happy Birthday!

So what is a fat page?

The decorative area of a FAT PAGE is 4″ x 4″ but the actual card should be cut to 4″ x 4.5″ leaving half an inch to the left hand side for binding with ribbon or book rings when collating the fat pages to produce a FAT BOOK for the person who receives it. Fat pages normally have a theme and are created by several crafters to swap or give. The front of the card is decorated and embellished which is where the ‘Fat Page’ comes from. The back should be decorated too, but should also have the details of the page creator, similar to an ATC.

Today is the 60th Birthday of one of our forum members, Dee a.k.a. Denise Hughes and we would all like to wish her a Very Happy Birthday!

Several forum members were approached to do a ‘Fat Page’ for Dee as way of wishing her a Happy Birthday and I’m sure you will love the results as much as Dee. A huge ‘THANK YOU’ should go to Debbie Moore (Debbee) for organising the Fat Pages, also to Fiona Haigh-Gannon (Fe Fe) Dee’s daughter for collating and photographing each page. Also a very large ‘Thank you’ to everyone who contributed to the Fat Book for Dee.

To start off the Fat Book Fiona (Fe Fe) created the front page (front and back):

Fiona (Fe Fe) did this page for her Mum also:

Paula (Wulfcwen) made this fab page with a grunge look:

Diane Von Kesmark (Vonxy) gave her page an oriental theme:

Marcus Grundy (Scrapyard Antics) has a teddy bear theme (hand drawn by Tracey)

Sabina who is our furthest contributor coming from Australia actually made three pages for Dee. The first with a girly dress theme:

Sabina’s 2nd page has a leather bikers outfit:

Finally Sabina’s 3rd page is gorgeous too:

Nicki Moss (Littleted62) made this gorgeous page for Dee with a double-sided removable tag:

Joani’s page has a lovely feminine look to it:

Dawn (Glitterpuss) made this excellent page (hope Dee sees the funny side!)

A cross-stitched cupcake and butterflies by Fiona Lowes (Flee) are a lovely combination:

Debbie Moore’s (debbee) card also doubles as a slide envelope (tutorial to follow shortly):

This 2nd bear is also a hand drawn ted on a motor bike, drawn especially for Dee by Tracey Grundy (craftycarrot):

This gorgeous floral page was by Gaye McLean (chooks):

Anne (Chocolate Fudge Cake) made this lovely page, again with a variation on the BIG 60:

Carole Vile’s (cazzy) page adds a bit of humour to the fat book:

Last but most definitely not least Cassidii’s page is gorgeous in pastels:

Finally here is a pic of the collated FAT BOOK:

Love is in the air as St Valentines Day is almost here. Here Fiona Haigh-Gannon shows us some gorgeous examples of cards to send to your loved one.

Cute and Cuddly

For this Valentine’s card I cut a square of patterned Valentine’s paper slightly smaller than the card blank and adhered this to the front of the card. I then found a smaller scrap of co-ordinating paper which I adhered to the top left side of the card. I cut out a border from matching heart paper and adhered this towards the bottom of the card.

I used black Stazon Ink to stamp the Magnolia Tilda stamp onto watercolour paper then used Twinkling H2Os to colour her in, matching the colours of her dress to the backing papers for a co-ordinated look and adhered into position. I stamped the “I Love You” in the top right hand corner using Versa Color Ink in Orchid covered it in clear embossing powder and set with a heat gun. To finish I punched a small heart out of co-ordinating paper and adhered it to the top right corner of the stamped Magnolia image and added a small pink bow under the sentiment.

Elegant

For an elegant card, keeping it simple and uncluttered is the key.

To make this card I took an A4 card blank and created a gate fold card using the Crafters Companion. I used the “Birds and Swirls” folder in my Cuttlebug to create the embossed image, them mounted it onto red card and adhered it to the left side of the gate fold. I printed out the sentiment “Happy Valentine’s Day” on my computer on to the same card I used for the embossed card and adhered it to the same side. I used a paper punch to make the two small red hearts and adhered them to either side of the sentiment to finish.

Hot and Sexy?

For this one I used Versamark Ink to stamp the Basque out twice onto red card then embossed them both with black opaque embossing powder and a heat gun. I cut around one of the Basques and decoupaged it over the top of the other using foam pads.

I stamped out the sentiment “You’ve been a bad bad boy! Now go to my room!” onto cream card and rounded to corners using a corner punch. I adhered both the Basque and the sentiment onto a black DL card and added the red satin bow to finish.

Funny?
For this card I used a collection of different stamps including Magnolia (wall and fence), Penny Black (flowers/bushes with toadstools) and Fronts & Backs Stamps (the old man and lady).

The background stamps are all stamped directly onto the card blank and coloured with Twinkling H2Os. The flower stamp I stamped again onto red card then cut out the toadstools and flowers and glued them over the ones on the card blank to make them stand out more.

The Fronts & Backs (man and lady) I stamped on to water colour paper and coloured with Twinkling H2Os. When they were dry I cut them out and adhered them into position.

I added “To The Old Fossil” in Peel Offs to the front of the card and “From Your Old Woman” in Peel Offs to the inside of the card.

The Valentine’s Banner at the top was a freebie from a magazine.

Or Are You Just an Old Romantic?

For all those old romantics out there, this one is for you.

I used papers by K&Co and Fancy Pants Designs which I cut to size then inked the edges with Old Paper Distress Ink. To make the two triangular papers I cut a square of paper slightly smaller than the card blank then sliced it in half using a paper trimmer. I adhered the two pieces onto the card blank leaving a small gap in the centre. I cut a rectangular piece of co-ordinating paper and adhered it to the top left hand corner of the card.

I cut a heart out of the Fancy Pants paper using a Cricut machine and the George and Basic Shapes cartridge and adhered this to the bottom right corner of the card. I took a paper flower rose bud and wound the stalk around my paper pricking tool to give it a tight curl. I adhered the flower to the heart using Glossy Accents then added an organza ribbon bow to finish.

Recently we have had a few CHRISTMAS FREEBIES for you to download. Well here are the fantastic creations our readers have produced with those very images.

The first image was the ‘mErRy ChRiStMaS’ text drawn by Tracey Grundy:

Debbie Moore decorated this candle from being a plain cream coloured candle to a gorgeous Christmas candle.

The technique Debbie used to get the text onto the cande is:

Debbie added the coloured text to the candle by printing onto tissue paper

The tissue paper was then adhered to copy paper with sellotape and put it through the printer

Debbie then cut close around the image and placed it on candle and held it in place with greaseproof paper

Debbie then gently melted the greaseproof paper with a heat gun until the image changed colour

The greaseproof paper was then removed and voila the image is permanently in place

Debbies tip: You can also stamp onto the tissue paper and colour with water colour pencils etc - but don’t overwet as the tissue paper may tear - let it dry and cut out and follow instructions as above.

Debbie also used an old beaded necklace and added berries from some old Christmas crackers to finish off the decoration of the candle.

Stephanie Block made these two great cards with the text also. The first card had the greeting printed onto acetate then glittered the underside. The acetate is raised on foam pads.

This second card by Stephanie Block had the text coloured in with gel pens and then raised it on foam pads.

We also had this Christmas tree which was also hand drawn by Tracey Grundy:

Fiona Haigh-Gannon made this gorgeous card with the tree image, adding a bit of sparkle and bling to the baubles and the star.

We also had these images of Claire and Snowman which were came blank for you to colour in or pre-coloured as below:

Debbie Moore made another great card with these images and added some extras including the hat and robin on the snowman.

Tracey Grundy drew this gorgeous blank image of an angel:

Heather Smith took the colouring in, one step further and produced this fabulous angel, adding a bit of bling. Check out Heathers blog - http://www.scrapurheartout.blogspot.com

Our own Design Team Member, Debbie Moore gave you this gorgeous Teddy with Snowman:

And a fellow Design Team Member, Fiona Haigh-Gannon used Debbies image and made this lovely card.

Finally, Tracey Grundy hand drew this little Nativity Scene which was left blank for you to colour in as you wish:

Heather of Vanilla Hev’n did exactly that and by colouring in the image in two different colour ways, created these two cards. Check out Heather’s blog - http://vanillahevn.blogspot.com

Susan Kell also shows us her version of the Nativity image too.
